Victoria McSteeme

One of Rick's stunning Steampunk Collection. This lady has a very strong character, she knows what she likes and what suits her.
Printed onto neenah card which I find works brilliantly with my promarkers and spectrum noir pencils.I then imported the coloured image into Craft Artist 2 where I removed the white background and added a frame, material and background from the Steampunk Curiosities collection. There are more details on my blog if you have a moment to visit me. Sue x

Deja Voodoo - Image Transfer on Mixed Media Background.

Hi all, Fiona R here today with my latest creepy creation using one of Rick's many fabulous images.

I decided to name this project Deja Voodoo..........you know,  that feeling you get when someone jinxes you, and you swear it's been done before, but you can't remember where or when..................

To start I created a mixed media background on foamboard using DecoArt Media fluid Acrylics. I then fired up photoshop and created my design using Rick's  Voodoo Digital Stamp Set which is available at Smeared Ink. Once happy with my design I printed onto Neenah classic white cardstock and coloured with my copics. I then scanned the design and printed out using my laser printer as this was gong to be an image transfer. I then painted over the main image and skulls in the four corners with DecoArt Media tinting fluid ( 3 coats ) as I didn't want these to appear transparent on the media background. Once dry a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Medium was applied to the image transfer and left to dry. The mixed media background was also given a coat of the Matte Medium and left to dry also. Once dry the background was given a second coat of Matte Medium and whilst still wet the main image was applied to the background face down smoothed over with my fingers and then brayered to get a good adhesion and to remove any air bubbles that had formed. This was then left to dry overnight. Once dry the image was then soaked with water applied with a sponge and the paper rubbed off in a circular motion to reveal the image that had been transferred to the background. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was then applied to seal and protect. You can find video instructions on this technique courtesy of Mr Andy Skinner on his blog.

                                                            Finished  Project.

Think I'll frame this as it turned out quite nice, if I say so myself.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs Fiona.

All I Want for Christmas

Here's a Christmas card using a suspicious looking Nimbleknees Gherkin by RSD MFA. I've coloured Nimbleknees with Copic markers and then cut him out and popping him up on a sheet of Die-Cut Design Paper by Upikit. I've then stuck this on a dark purple starry card blank. I've added a Christmas speech bubble from Spotlight and a couple of buttons from Kaiser.
The copics that I used are:
b21,b24,b28,yr23,y35,r22,r24,r27,r000,r02,g00,g02,g05,g14,g17,v15,v17,yr31,e31,c1

Welcome to Day 12 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

If you came from Monique's blog, then you are on the right track; if not, then please visit Terra's Blog and enjoy the hop. The amazing Blogroll is also on the side bar.

A very good morning to you all. I hope you're not stressing too much - the big day is almost here. I always find the preparations for this One day overwhelming. So much seems to be expected. It'll be quiet in the Cubbyhole this year. Three (maybe four) for dinner. Grownup kids have their own families and then there's the various in-laws to take in as well. Still, it will mean that I get some quiet me time in. So all's good. Enough of that....
My project today will feature on our table this year. Although not much will be seen once the dishes get put down. I know they're there. It all started with these tatty looking place mats and some paint....

Some coloured images from the shops of Rick St Dennis of Nimble Knees Gherkin

and one of the images available from Smeared Ink's rubber range designed by Rick - Voodoo Available in digi format now as well (bottom left image)
The mats - there are four but this is a pic of just one.

and a bit of a close-up
this shows the texture a bit better. The rubber was dipped in the paint to apply.

I took the pic before adding the rest of the layers of sealer just in case of glare. There will need to be at least another 4 layers of that to ensure any hot plates and spillages don't damage.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy the rest of the hop and have a fantastic Creepmas/Christmas

Creepy Creepmas Tag

Hello Fiona R here today with a creepy Creepmas creation in the form of a fun Creepmas Tag. I chose to use Rick St Dennis MFA's Digital image Witch Tree. You can find Witch Tree in Rick's Zibbet Store HERE.. I coloured her up using my copics, fussy cut and put to one side. I used a Tim Holtz tag die to cut my tag. I then fired up photoshop  using a digital paper by Abigail Larson to create a background for the tag. I also created a creepmas label as an accent, printed these out and attached to the tag base. I then added the Witchy Tree image using 3d foam pads to make her pop off the tag. A black ribbon bow was then tied to the top of the tag for the finishing touch.

                                                           Here is the finished Tag.

Thanks for joining us today and Merry Creepmas to all.

Tis the season for some Holiday Opera Fa la la.   La la la lah.

Hi welcome to Creepmas  with some tunes from the Rick St Dennis stamp Holiday Opera. Santa in all his glory has been coloured in Copic markers, cut out and popped up on some patterned papers from Kaiser and coloured card. The Fa la la sentiment is some chipboard that I found in my stash. I also added a tad of glitter to all the soap bubbles. From the look on Santas face he has hit too higher note! Merry Creepmas

Howdy from Oklahoma! Aletha here with a fun Creepmas tag. I have been on a tag kick for a couple of weeks and having the time of my life. This is the time when you get to see a lot of creative and talented artists have fun with this theme.

For my tag I chose to use Rick St. Dennis MFA’s digital image “Lizzywigs.” She was fun to color with Copics and then create the mixed-media background for her. You can find Lizzywigs in Rick’s Zibbet store.

Here is the completed tag.

These last two pictures are just close ups of the my layers. You can find the entire
supply list on my blog, AJ’s Alternative Endeavors.

Thanks for joining us today. Your blog roll is in the right side bar. Merry Creepmas!

Rachel's haunted carnival midway

Hello there everyone, it is my turn to host here on the Airless chambers blog today!
and I have chosen 'Haunted Carnival midway' for my piece today
I made something other than a card for once as I have a cute little easel which I usually use when I take pictures of my projects- the rest of the time it looks a little empty and sad, so I thought it could do with its own picture to sit on it when it's not required as a photo prop!

I used some thick grey cardboard as a base that i got when i recieved something in the post from that craft place- instead of throwing it away I cut it to the size of my image, to make it more of a plaque.
i coloured the image using my promarkers and copics, and used my blending chalks for the background.
i also added splats using my splats mask from that craft place, and some jade dimensional paint from heritage handcrafts that I picked up a couple of months ago
my thinking was in green it looked a bit like blobs of ectoplasm shed by the creepy monster chewing on the ticket booth!

hope you enjoy this slightly creepy make!

if you would like to see my other work please do hop over and take a look at my personal Blog

CREEPMAS DAY 9 with Monique

Welcome to Day 9 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

Monique here today with a creepmas card and as promised on my bloggie a little step by step about masking.

If you came from my blog then you are on the right track; if not, then please visit Terra's Blog and enjoy the hop. The amazing Blogroll is also on the side bar.

Anyway the card......
Here is the finished result I used some Smeared Ink rubber sets designed by Rick St.dennis (btw the rubber sets are available as digi aswell at SI)

To create this scene I used Haunted places 1 and Dark Holidaze, masking tape, Archival Jet Black ink, Prismacolor pencils and distress ink.
After layering the stamped scene I added some Deco Art Craft Twinkles writer in Galaxy Blue.

For those who'd like to see the process, here a step by step, I made this after the card was finished and did just some quick stamping for the step by step, so this one is not exactly the same as the card, but you will get the idea.

First the stamps used, I did just use some parts of some stamps. It's fun to see what you can do using stamps in a different way than they are supposed to be used LOL

First stamp Frosty

stamp Frostie again but this time on masking paper and cut him out
place the mask on top of the stamped frosty image and stamp the church in a way it looks like it is behind Frosty. Leave the mask on frosty till all the stamping is done
Next the crack in the ice need to be stamped, I used part of a Haunted places stamp, Make sure the stamp is clean and cover the part you don't need to avoid ink smudges and ink up the stamp.

after inking remove the mask, flip over the block cuz I stamped it upside down
just thought that looks better

next use a part of the tree stamp to create the shore, just try on a piece of scrap paper what part you like best.  Try to line it up on the right place, mine should have been a bit lower.  The shore is the most tricky part of this scene.
mask the parts you don't want to use (make sure the stamp is clean first) and mask the space on the card you don't want to get ink on.
remove the mask of the stamp after inking and stamp
do the same for the other shore

Next finish the scene by stamping some branches from the tree stamp around the edges to create depth

remove the frosty mask (and keep it at the stamp set for next time you need it)

So this is what it looks like without collouring, a bit stange cuz it's all black and white and that makes it hard to see where one image ends and the other starts. After colouring it looks like this

the stamps are coloured using pencils, the sky is distress ink applied using make up sponges. Colours used Weathered Wood, Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass and a bit Walnut stain. The sun is Mustard Seed.
I started with the sun and tried to create clouds using the sponges and the other colours.

Thanks for looking and see you for day 10

I will enter this card in the following challenge

Starlight Starfright.................

Hi it's Fiona here today..............

I hope you have been enjoying all the creepmas makes so far. There have been some simply Fabulously  makes from all taking part . For my Creepmas make I decided to make a hanging star ornament. This beauty measures 5 inches across. I cut the star pieces on my brother scan and cut in Red and Black cardstock and assembled . I then coloured up Rick st Dennis's image Sandy Claws Digi Stamp available in his Zibbet Shop with my Copics. Once coloured fussy cut and attached to the centre of the star with 3d foam tape. attached some Red Glittery string and hung.  I think I am quite pleased how this turned out.

Have fun hopping and Merry Creepmas.

CREEPMAS DAY 7 with LADY B

Welcome to Day 7 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

If you came from Monique's blog, then you are on the right track; if not, then please visit Terra's Blog and enjoy the hop. The amazing Blogroll is also on the side bar.

Creepmas is the second best holiday of the year (after Hallowe'en) and the team has made some great projects for your viewing pleasure as we take part in this awesome hop organised by The Smeared and Smudged community. Today is Smeared Ink day and in honour of that, I (Lady B) have used stamps from the "Dark Holidaze" rubber set and the "Voodoo" rubber set designed by Rick St Dennis and sold exclusively by Smeared Ink.  Great News!  You can now buy Rick's rubber sets as digi sets and digi singles in the Smeared Ink shop!

I decided to make Domino Ornaments for my Creepmas Tree.  This was my first attempt at colouring Dominoes and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.  By the time I got the hang of it, I ran out of Dominoes.  I'm definitely going to play with this medium more in the future!  I just need to get some fine tipped sharpies first :).  Feel free to click on the pics below to enlarge them.

My dominoes were stamped with Jet Black Staz-On ink.  I inked the stamp and had it face up on my craft table then I carefully pressed the domino on the portion of the stamp I wanted to use.  I heat set the ink then sealed the dominoes with DecoArt Media Matte Medium.  Next I coloured  the dominoes with my Copic Markers.  I found that if you seal each layer, you can continue to add colour  without swiping off the first layer of colour applied.  I also used some DecoArt Paper Effects.  I LOVE this stuff!  It comes with an optional super fine tip for the tiniest dots and thinnest dimensional paint lines ever!  I added ribbon on the sides of my dominoes and sealed the dominoes with Diamond Glaze.  I took the pics before adding the glaze so the shine wouldn't interfere with the photos.

I will be entering my ornaments into the Smudgy Antics ATG challenge.

Cheers!
~Lady B ~

CREEPMAS DAY 6 With Rachel

Welcome to Day 6 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

If you came from Monique's blog, then you are on the right track; if not, then please visit Terra's Blog and enjoy the hop. The amazing Blogroll is also on the side bar.

Hello there everyone....I hope you have been enjoying all the creepmas makes so far this month both over here and over at Smeared ink!

for my creepmas make I have decided to make a special creepmas Tag with the Rick St Dennis MFA Digital stamp called 'Creepmas Witch Tree'

I used :

copics in G99,G94, and G21 for the skin and her hat band, and N8, N9,N4 and N2 for the hair on both the witch and the shrunken head, and also the hat.
I coloured her robes using R08, YR07 and a smidgen of YR14
the shrunken head is done in E13 and 11
and the baubles , snake and hat are done in previous colours mentioned- with the exception of the purple one which is purple promarker!

I surrounded the image with a border in N2 and then set to work on the background

I cut the cardstock and the backing piece of pizza box to a tag shape, punched a hole and added a rivet

I used my memento tuxedo black ink pad , and some peacock blue and tea dye distress ink , then I spritzed the area around the image (very carefully) using a Prima Bloom spray which is soft teal in the sparkling pastel range. It adds a subtle sparkle once dry, and looks wonderful when the distress ink reacts with it!

to finish off I used a stencil and some green dimensional paint to add the circles to the tag, and when everything was nearly dry, I distressed the edges slightly and added a piece of orange ribbon.

CREEPMAS DAY 5 with Bonnie

Welcome to Day 5 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

If you came from Monique's blog, then you are on the right track; if not, then please visit Terra's Blog and enjoy the hop. The amazing Blogroll is also on the side bar.

It's Bonnie here today with a mixed media Creepmas project. I began by spraying my white bristol background with water and then Dylusions Cut Grass, Fresh Lime, and London Blue ink sprays. That layer was dried and then the background was dipped into the leftover spray on the craft sheet drying in between dunkings. The final coat was a spritz of  Iridescent Gold Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist for that creepmas glow...lol. The edges of the background were inked with Black Soot and then black Big Brush pen. The bristol was matted in black cardstock and then mounted on chipboard for strength.

An icicle border was die cut from white cardstock, shaded outside with a Stabilo black pencil and outlined with black Micron pen. Two different patterned washi tapes were layered onto white cardstock and then adhered  below where the two stars of the show would stand to ground them. White punched snowflakes were scattered around the background.

Creepmas Witch Tree and Phineus Pucker were coloured with Prismacolor pencil and fussy cut leaving a narrow white border. They were then both matted in black and popped up on foam tape.

Glossy Accents was added to their eyes and Wink of Stella was added to the dear witch's hat and ornaments. Metallic gel pen was also used to outline her lovely cape.

A third image, Creepmas Bones, was printed on white cardstock, coloured with Prismacolor pencils and cut with an oval die. It was framed with a black oval which had paint added to the edge in a checked pattern. Icicle Stickles were added to the spider webs on the design.Doodling and inking with Black Soot completed the outside edge of the sentiment.

The other sentiment, which expresses poor Phineus' dismay at what he has found under the tree, was computer generated, printed on white cardstock, and matted in black. The segments were popped up on foam dots for extra loft. Black pearls become the thought bubble trail of Phineus and a black cardstock arrow indicates the tree under which (or is that witch) his present awaits...poor lad!

Thanks for joining Phineus, his witchy friend, and me today. We appreciate that. Have fun hopping and Merry Creepmas!

Bonnie
