Monster Madness Bloghop

Hi all, welcome to Airless Chambers, the Dark blog of the Rick St. Dennis Elite Design Team. We are very excited to participate in the Monster Madness bloghop.
If you are looking for monsters you've come to the right place, Rick's monster images are awesome and there are a lot of different kinds in his Zibbet and Etsy shoppes. If you are not into very scary, you can find some cute little monsters that will make you smile, but there are also the really scary ones that you don't want to colour when you are alone in the dark.
Below are the monster projects the EDT made for this hop.  We hope you will enjoy the eye candy, (you can also visit the EDT members blogs, you will find more info about the projects there), have fun hopping.

Sea Sprite and friend

 Sea Sprite 2 on Zibbet
Sea Sprite 2 on Etsy
This gorgeous young Sea Sprite is available in both the etsy and the zibbet store. A delight to colour and will be framed alongside Sea Sprite 1 which I will be showing in a few days. There are so many underwater images to choose from but this image is new to me so I couldn't wait to try out my new 'marine' promarkers.

Science experiment

Hi all, MO here,

We on Airless Chambers love to do some experimenting, I've got one to show you

I made an Art Journal page using the Rick St. dennis "It's alive " digi, you can find him here

Some experiment hey? LOL

for the backgound I used DecoArts Americana Acrylics (Tomato Red and Ocean Blue, the letters are Lamp Black), and a Gelli Plate.
The word "Science" is stamped using foam stamps (making memories)  and Lamp Black American Acrylic paint, the rest is made using a stencil and a black DVD marker from Edding (found out they work the best on acrylic paint).

The senti is ofcourse from Dexters Laboratory, if you never saw the cartoons (shame on you,) you can read all about it here.

Anyway, Deedee (What does that button do??)  must have had something to do with this experiment, cause it went terribly wrong........

In the Mood for Steampunk?

Happy Monday!  Lady B here :)
Recently, the RSD EDT received special Steampunk images drawn by Rick and we made projects with them to submit to "Just Steampunk" magazine for their volume 5 edition which comes out in August.  Many of the EDT will be featured in the upcoming edition.  I'm hoping everyone's piece/pieces have been accepted.  In honor of this, we are having our first progressive challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter Blog with the theme of Steampunk.  Click here and here to read more about the challenge.

I am still stuck in Steampunk mode so I thought I would share a new make of mine as a reminder for the Progressive Challenge which runs through May.

I used the image "Steampunk Peg" which was drawn by Rick St. Dennis and is available exclusively at I Brake for Stamps as a digital stamp.  Peg is colored with Copic markers and mounted upon a portion of a broken cell phone.  The combo was then mounted upon a 6" x 6" piece of wood which was given a special treatment for texture then painted with DecoArt Traditions Artistic Acrylics paints.

I added some Tim Holtz gears which were dry embossed with Darice "Steampunk Gears" embossing folder and further textured with DecoArt Snow-Tex.  The paint on the gears is DecoArt Dazzling Metallics in Worn Penny.  I sealed the painted surfaces with DecoArt Decou-Page in Matte.

For my final touch I added a copper colored wire wrapped gem to the center of one of the gears.  I used silicone household glue to attach the gem.  Here is the brand of glue I used, but I didn't buy a case...just a single tube.  A little of this stuff goes a long way!

Be sure to play along with the Progressive Challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter blog.  If you need steampunk images, you can find them in Rick's Zibbet Shoppe as well as his Etsy Shoppe.  There is a challenge on Rick's Facebook page as well.

Cheers!

Shades of Shady Ladies

                                                                         Damarys

Hello everyone,
Rick St Dennis has done it again with his latest series of hat models called Shady Ladies.  These are not the girls next door, as you can see, and they have more in common with Cruella de Vil than anyone else.  I had a lot of fun coloring these ladies, and they are available in Rick's Zibbet shop for those of you that are interested.  They did pose a challenge for me because I tend to favor Rick's glamour girls, but I'm happy with how they came out.

Rick St. Dennis MFA has done it again. He has created more stunning images for his “Hats” line on Zibbet. These gorgeous hat images are on the shadier side of things. Today I have Angelina who? colored and ready for a project.

Angelina who? is so much fun to color. I do hope she looks evil and very chilling.

Speaking of Rick’s Facebook Group, we have a bi-weekly art contest. This gives you another chance to win more of Rick’s images.
